Lise Hull is a freelance writer, castellologist, and historian specializing in British heritage and its historical landscape. In 1985, she was stationed in Pembrokeshire, Wales, as a commissioned officer in the US Navy. Since then she has extensively explored the UK and its heritage sites, both as a resident and as a returning visitor. She considers Wales to be her spiritual homeland. In 2001, Lise received a Master of Arts with distinction from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, obtaining her degree in Heritage Studies from the Department of History and Welsh History. In 2002, she received the first ever Faculty of Arts award for best dissertation. She also has a Master of Public Affairs degree, specializing in Historic Preservation, from Indiana University.
In 1994 shortly after her retirement from the Navy, Lise began working as a freelance writer and researcher and established Castles Unlimited, in an effort to increase awareness of the status of medieval castles in Britain.

In recognition of Countries of the World: Scotland, Thomson/Gale publishers selected Lise for inclusion in their reference book, Something About The Author, which highlights talented children's writers.
Lise's work has also appeared in a variety of print and online publications. For almost ten years she wrote the "Wales Off the Beaten Track" column for Ninnau, the North American Welsh newspaper and was on the staff of Renaissance Magazine, writing their castles lore and digging up the past columns.
